Industrial machinery and equipment

We source and import machinery and equipment for Moroccan businesses. Here is what we buy in this family, what gets checked before the factory is paid, what customs asks for, and how the freight is calculated.

FAQ

Which machines and equipment can you source?

Our factory network covers material handling (electric forklifts and pallet trucks from 0.5 to 3.5 tonnes, warehouse stackers), commercial kitchen equipment, counting and packaging lines, waste disposers, and the workshop tooling that goes with them. That list comes from our manufacturing relationships, not from a general catalogue.

We work for Moroccan businesses restocking, from 50,000 MAD of goods and paid in advance. The other families we source are on the what we source page.

How much do I need to start an import of machinery?

Budget at least 50,000 MAD of goods, paid in advance, plus freight and clearance fees. We do not do free quotes, and the price we give you is built from the real landed cost, never from the ex-works price.

In practice we add up the factory price, the freight, the insurance, the customs duty, the VAT, the broker's fees and the local charges before you see a number. A price built on FOB alone is a wrong price.

What documents does customs need for a machine?

Four pieces, for every import: the supplier's commercial or pro forma invoice, describing the goods in French and carrying the HS code when it is known; the import commitment authorised by the Foreign Exchange Office, which allows the currency transfer to the supplier; the customs declaration, filed with the customs administration; and the importer's ICE identifier, to be checked before the first clearance.

Clearance happens with your broker. We prepare the file on the supplier's side and follow it with you until the goods leave the port.

Does my machine need a certificate of conformity?

That depends on the product's customs classification and on the standards made mandatory for it, and nobody answers that from memory. What is certain: conformity verification has been mandatory in Morocco since 1 February 2020 for regulated imports.

The certificate of conformity is specific to each shipment. It is issued by an authorised body (SGS, Intertek, TUV, Bureau Veritas, Santiq) and presented to customs. Without it: delay, extra inspection, or refusal at the border. The scope is checked shipment by shipment with your broker, before the goods leave.

Do weight and volume change the freight?

Yes, and that is where badly built quotes fall apart. A machine weighing a few hundred kilos does not travel by parcel service, whose limit is 30 kilos and 55 x 40 x 35 cm.

It goes as LCL sea freight, billed on the greater of the volume in cubic metres and the weight in tonnes, plus the road leg to your warehouse. Air freight stays possible for an urgent part, at a cost of another order.

What do you check before the factory is paid?

The supplier's identity, its real role (factory or middleman), its licence and its bank account, then the machine itself.

We have the technical sheet written out (materials, dimensions, finish, tolerances) before the order, and for a series order we commission a third-party pre-shipment inspection. That is the cheapest insurance in an import.

On your side, four points get checked before you order: the voltage and frequency of your workshop's supply, and whether you need single phase or three phase; the floor space the machine takes and the load your slab carries; wear parts, moulds and consumables, and how long they take to arrive; and the language of the technical manual and whether a technician is available in Morocco.

How long does an import take, and how do we start?

A real import runs two to three months from order to delivery: production, then 33 to 49 days of LCL sea freight, then clearance. Sea freight from China typically runs 30 to 45 days, and a source in Turkey or Europe is faster. The timeline is written into the contract from the start, with no promise of speed.

The full sequence, from contract to receipt, is on the how it works page. We source, import and deliver; commissioning, wiring and training your operators stay on your side.

To start, describe the machine, the quantity and the supply voltage on the contact page: we answer in writing, with the missing questions, before we talk about money.
